Paul Airey Director and Chartered Surveyor
Paul Airey is a Chartered Surveyor and a Registered RICS Valuer who has been valuing both residential and commercial properties in the SR/DH and NE postcodes for in excess of 30 years.
He has undertaken both residential and commercial valuations for the HSBC, Northern Rock, RBS, Natwest, Co-op, Lloyds Bank, Handelsbanken and Barclays.
In addition, he has acted as a consultant valuer for Connells and E Surv.
Paul regularly undertakes folio valuations for matrimonial and inheritance tax purposes.
He also acts as an expert witness in valuation disputes involving insurance companies and lenders. With an extensive knowledge of the region’s property market, Paul contributes to the RICS Residential Survey and attends the RICS Regional Residential Property Forum.
As managing director of Paul Airey Chartered Surveyors, he oversees a busy general practice office which undertakes both residential and commercial sales and lettings, together with a wide range of RICS Red Book compliant survey and valuation related advice.

James Clark Doyle Consultant
James has worked in the built environment sector for 10 years. He holds a BSc (Hons) in Real Estate Management from the University College of Estate Management and an MSc in Urban Planning from Newcastle University. In 2023 he was made an Associate Fellow of the University College of Estate management and in 2024 was awarded the North East Book Prize by the Royal Town Planning Institute. Previously James was an elected member of Sunderland City Council, serving as Deputy Leader of the Opposition between 2020 and 2023. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Urban Planning at Newcastle University.
James has extensive experience of the Help to Buy redemption process, valuation for use in court proceedings, and pension fund valuations. He also holds an interest in development appraisal and planning consultancy.
